Snohomish County is shining green lights on its buildings for Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting veterans. Now in its fifth year, this project encourages counties across the U.S. to recognize the contributions of former service members. Each year, counties help veterans access over $52 billion in federal health and disability benefits. Mary Jane Brell Vujovic, Director of Snohomish County Human Services, stated, “Illuminating our buildings with green lights is a simple but powerful way to recognize our county’s gratitude for those who have served our nation.” The community is invited to participate by changing one exterior light to green on Veterans Day to make veterans feel valued. The Snohomish County Veterans Assistance Program provides essential services, including emergency financial assistance and care coordination.
