Bellevue has released a draft of the 2026-2030 Sustainable Bellevue Plan for public feedback, which will be accepted until September 8. This plan builds on the 2021-25 Sustainable Bellevue Plan, gathering insights from over 1,000 community members since its update began in October 2024. The plan aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 and outlines strategies in five focus areas: Climate Change, Energy and Buildings, Mobility and Land Use, Materials and Waste, and Natural Systems. Additionally, it targets carbon-neutral city operations by 2040 and emphasizes climate resilience to address future challenges. Bellevue’s tree canopy and access to mobility options are also key components. The draft plan reflects a commitment to engage the community in shaping a sustainable future. Colin Munson can be contacted for more information about the plan and how to provide feedback. The City Council plans to adopt the updated plan in late 2025.
